Here in Wood County, we are fortunate to have ideal conditions
to attract the species birders love to find and photograph.

Mineola Nature Preserve
Voted “Best Birdwatching” 2008

Mineola is an easy drive of about 23 miles south of Winnsboro.
Follow Hwy 37, which merges Hwy 69 in Mineola. The Nature
Preserve is just south of Mineola.

From Hwy 69: turn east onto Loop 564 then turn right onto
CR 2724 (Cap Ranch Road). Go 1.9 miles to the main entrance.


The 15th Annual Eagle Fest
February 6-7, 2010
Emory Texas

Eagle Fest was started in 1996. Each year the festival includes
educational displays, exhibitions and lectures; Native American
art and performances; live music; and nature tours.

This year will be the fifteenth annual event, will be held at the
Rains ISD Schools Campus on US 69, Northwest of Emory, Texas .
