Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, Winnsboro, Texas snow day!
The predicted snow arrived overnight and big, fat flakes are continuing to fall.
In the North, we would be weary of snow by February, but with just one snowstorm so far this season, we can enjoy the pleasure of it. That is, of course, if the roads don't freeze into an ice rink. It will likely all be gone tomorrow when the temperature rises well above freezing, so enjoy it while you can!
This shot was taken from our back porch in the early light. The picture is actually in color, but this morning, the world looks, if only briefly, like a study in black and white. The snow even seems to muffle the usual early morning sounds.
So, how are you spending your snow day? I'm about to put on a pot of soup.
