City Kitty has a great idea for warm, cuddly and lovable gift this Christmas!

Anita Williams - Friday, December 16, 2011

Hi - it's me, City Kitty again.

It's almost Christmas and I'm purdy sure you have some people on your list who would really enjoy a new pet.

We would all 'preciate it if you think about giving a sweet animals as a present. . . including a gift for yourself!

At the Winnsboro Animal Shelter, we have kittens and growed up cats, puppies and faithful older dogs.  They're all looking for someone to love them like my Cat Mommies at City Hall love me.

Also, my friends are hoping for gifts of food and toys if you would be so kind as to drop them off a the Shelter.  They also need money for medicine and vet visits.

If you want to come see my pals at the Shelter, be sure to call to make sure someone will be there when you visit.

Thank you for rememb'ring the orphans waiting for a cozy home this Christmas!

Your friend,

City Kitty

City Kitty Animal Shelter Update

Anita Williams - Sunday, November 06, 2011

Hallo Friends of Animals.

Ms. Nina asked me to remind you we have a lot of really nice, sweet kittens and cats at the Animal Shelter. There's even a Blue Russian who could be a very nice pet for you or someone you love.  (Not as purdy as me, of course, but a really nice cat.)

We have lots of kittens, cat, puppies and dogs just waiting for someone to love.

Also, with the holidays coming up, we're going to need some foster Mommies and Daddies to care for some animals in their homes for a few days at a time.  Plus, we always need food, treats and toys for the pets waiting for their new families. . . this year more than ever.

We rely on our human friends to help our furry friends. I hope your heart is soft for animals just wanting a home of their own.

Your friend,

City Kitty

3rd Annual Winnsboro Animal Shelter Garage Sale

Anita Williams - Monday, February 28, 2011
Hi - It's me, City Kitty writing you from City Hall.

I wanted you to know about the Garage Sale my human friends are having to raise money for my furry friends at the Animal Shelter.

It's gonna be held Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 14, 2011. You can shop from 8 am – 5 pm on all three days.

Oh, Miss Denise says to tell you it's at City Park Auditorium in City Park.

It’s getting warmer so maybe you'll be “Spring Cleaning” your closets, garages and storage sheds. Your donations of things you don't use any more can mean a lot to the kitten, cats, puppies and dogs.

All proceeds from the garage sale will go towards “Helping Us Help Them” with dog food, cat food, cat litter, vet care, medications, vaccinations and other supplies.

If you have items that are in good, working, and salable condition, (no clothing please) call 903-342-3400 to arrange a time to meet at the shelter's storage space or for a pick up of your items

If you would like to volunteer to help with the garage sale, please call Miss Denise Miranda 903-629-7471.

Thank you for your support of the Winnsboro Animal Shelter! Our friends make it possible to keep the animals waiting for adoption.

Let me be the first to give you a round of a-paws for your help.

Two imporant updates on Farmer's Market and the Garage Sale for the Animal Shelter

Anita Williams - Thursday, September 23, 2010
Hi everyone -

Denise Miranda alerted me to some changes you should know about.

This weekend - Sat., September 25 - the Farmer's Market will be at the Depot to be part of the Community Gathering, not the Jack Cross Pavilion at City Park.

Also, next week, the Garage Sale benefit for the Animal Shelter will only be open until NOON ON FRIDAY, Oct. 1. The businesses participating in the Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will be setting up in the auditorium in the afternoon for event on Saturday.

By the way, Denise also sent me advance information about the. . .

Farmer's Market in October:

Squash, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, gourds, pumpkins,
fresh eggs, homemade jams & jellies, preserves,
homemade cheese, Jersey Girls yogurt (Mmmmmm!),
hot sauce, relishes, canned vegetables, many varieties
of peppers, herbs, homemade breads, fried pies.
and a few surprises!

These items are home grown, home made, and raised by our local farmers and gardeners so come early for the best selection and help make this Farmer’s Market a real success!

City Kitty says, "My friends at the animal shelter could use your help. Purr-ty please?"

Anita Williams - Friday, August 13, 2010

Hello again. It's me, City Kitty sending you a note from Miss Vickie's compooter.

Miss Denise asked me to talk to you about the 2-day garage sale for the Winnsboro Animal Shelter that's gonna happen Thursday, September 30 from 8 am - 4 pm and and Friday, October 1 from 8 am until noon at the City Audatorrium. That's my job, you know, to tell you about it as the spokeskitten for the shelter.

It's called "Help Us Help Them." It's going to be REALLY BIG. I know lots of people in Winnsboro have lots of good stuff they don't use just sitting around in closets or the garage.

Well, my friends at the animal shelter asked me to see if you have some things Miss Denise can put in the sale. (Except no clothes.)

You see, I am really lucky. I have a home at City Hall. Everybody here takes real good care of me. I have my own cozy bed right by the window so I can nap in the sun.

But my friends at the shelter are still waiting for their forever fambly. In the meantime, they need food and medicine and stuff like that.

I almost forgot. Miss Denise said she needs some help, too. So if you have a pick-up truk or traylor that you can use to pick things up from nice people with donations around town, that would really help.

And we need people to sell and also to clean up. I would help, but I'm too short.

I hope you can read this ok becuz I still don't spell real good yet, even though they are trying to teach me at City Hall. But it is really more fun to play hide and seek than to learn to spell.

Please call my friend Miss Denise at 903-629-7471.

Your friend and official spokeskitten,

City Kitty

This is me relaxing in one of my
napping spots in City Hall.
