Resource Center making an impact!

Anita Williams - Tuesday, August 17, 2010
I was checking with Gus over at the Resource Center to see how things are progressing. Wow! This place is really making a big difference in people's lives already! Here's what he said...

We're in the process of setting up workstations with computers, so folks can job hunt--we've already helped a handful find employment. We'll also begin jobskills training at these work stations soon. In addition to these services, referrals can be made for other needs...we're partnered with the backpack program, which will start back up during the school year; the Child Advocacy Center is also on board as needed; also, Meals on Wheels, eleven churches, too. Our hopes are to have an office for the future Teen Court/Second Chance program that will be initiated through Enough Is Enough organization! "It's All Good!"

Remember - from now through Friday's Winnsboro Merchants Shopping Cart Drill Team performances, Marilyn will be collecting school supplies and Art & Espresso. There are collection boxes in other businesses and banks as well.
