Al Moore and Suzann Cromer exhibit at the Aloft Hotel in Dallas

Anita Williams - Friday, September 03, 2010
Two area artists, Al Moore and Suzann Cromer, were among the 90 Texas Sculpture Association artists who were invited to participate in the recent exhibition at the Aloft Hotel, 1033 Young Street, Dallas, TX July 19 through August 27.

The Aloft is a hip, contemporary hotel built within a restored commercial building in the center of downtown Dallas, close to City Hall and the Convention Center.

The hotel provided a wonderful showcase for the sculptures with the pieces arranged throughout the lobby area. Below are their pieces photographed in the lobby, as well as the photos they submitted to the Texas Sculpture Association, which showcase the color and detail more clearly.

Al's sculpture, entitled Ancient Vessel, was created from limestone mounted and on magnolia wood. The piece was showcased in the front window of the hotel lobby.

Suzann, a former student of Georgia Lange Moore, entered her The Dreamer, sculpted from stoneware. Her sculpture won 3rd prize, which came with a cash award.
