Welcome to the Winnsboro Animal Shelter

City Kitty at City Hall

Hi. It's me, City Kitty. I live at City Hall and was 'pointed to be the official Spokes Cat for the Animal Shelter.

You see, when I was very tiny, too little to be away from my Mommy, I got lost. A very nice man who works for the city saw me in the middle of the street and took me to City Hall, where Miss Nina, the city administrator, said I could live.

My friends at the Shelter are waiting for new peoples to give them homes, too. Some have gotten lost and others were abandoned. But every one of them is given good care, play time and lots of cuddles by volunteers who love them so good.

Do you love animals? Winnsboro Animal Shelter is a very busy place.

There are always puppies, dogs, kittens and cats waiting for new fambies. In the meantime, there are many peoples in town who help us with supplies for my friends. The Shelter uses a lot of dog food, cat food, cat litter, medications, vaccinations and vet care.

Adopt a Pet
To take a pet home, your new friend will need a Rabies Vaccination and a signed Adoption Agreement. If you live inside the city limits, you'll need a City License, too.

The bestest thing you can do for your new pet is to have a fenced yard (not that cats like me pay any attention to fences). Dogs are so happy to have somewhere to run around and play. And it keeps them safe.

Hours

Come by and visit Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

Animal Control

Winnsboro has a leash law, so if you see a dog running loose, or one comes into your yard, it's probably lost or abandoned. Please call us. We can help them get back to their own fambly, or find a new home.
